Finally the Supreme Court will address racism
in their move today to hear the case of a white girl rejected by Univ of TX on the basis of her skin color. Is there anything more racists than affirmative action? I think it was good in the 1970s by some 40 years later it is time to stop thinking about race at all in my humble opinion. Link below – it is all over the news though

        Saw a preview for Black Power Mixtape at A Dangerous Method last night, looked pretty damn good. ADM was alright in the sense that whenever Keira Knightley was on screen I was rocking a half a chub, at a minimum, but I really could care less about Freud and Jung. The best character was Otto the polygamist therapist that convinced all of his patients that they should bang him played by Vince Cassel. As such, I have to give it the lowest rating on the scale of 6.845 out of a possible 6.944. Interesting, sometimes funny, but I was never a pysch major so it wasn’t really for me, I guess.

  A friend in my online Madden League averages like 70 points a game. I’m in his division. He always romps me. I beat him 38-35 last night. Freeman is my QB he sucks the entire game then is just magic in the 4th quarter. Threw a 70 yard bomb to Miles Austin to tie it. I kick off with 39 secs, pick on the first play, he throws another bomb to Miles to the 6. We get up and spike it then kick the field goal. Just an awesome feeling to get that monkey off my back.

        NOTE: After sending the following letter to my dear congressman, Daniel Lipinski, I figured I would share it with you, World.
        
        Greetings Mr. Lipinski! (Or, more than likely, his intern or assistant! Greetings to you too and thanks for taking the time to read this.)
        
        Let’s get down to brass tax here: SOPA and PIPA. They’re silly. Let’s be honest about that.
        
        I mean seriously, this is like that story of when the candlemakers in France went the the French government with a protest against the sun. Except, in this version of the story, America joins an illustrious list of countries who block IP addresses and censor the Internet.
        
        I would happily name the author of that story and the title of it — he’s a famous French economist — but Wikipedia is down, so all my stupid little inquiries like that go unfinished.
        
        I have a master’s degree in economics — it gives me a slightly heightened ability to sniff where the political capital is coming from. In this case, we have American businesses unwilling to admit the internet has vastly changed their business model, so they have turned instead to you, dear representative, in hopes you and your kindred politicians will lend an ear where the markets have ignored them.
        
        It is as though I discover the kid next door has stolen my One Great Joke and is telling it in a similar fashion to the other kids, making them laugh and love him — so then I dash to my mother, saying through my tears, “Intellectual property is one of America’s chief job creators and competitive advantages in the global marketplace, yet American inventors, authors, and entrepreneurs have been forced to stand by and watch as their works are stolen by foreign infringers beyond the reach of current U.S. laws.”
        
        Intellectual property law may be more stringent in America than any other country, but I would hardly name it as one of our “chief job creators” or “competitive advantages.” Yeah, some companies come to America to invent because they have the assurance the American government will watch their back — but how will shutting down icanhascheezburger.com help that cause?!
        
        Look, you and your interns are crazy busy, so I’ll wrap this up. PIPA and SOPA not only put us in some stupid international company (Iran, North Korea, China — countries that block foreign IPs), they also undermine America’s REAL competitive advantage: Innovative businessmen.
        
        If we reward the recalcitrant because they complain, then the market for new ideas shrivels and dies.
        
        Don’t kill ideas. Murder is bad for re-election.

        Dear Sir or Madame:
        
        I am an ambitious undergraduate at NYU triple majoring in Mathematics, Economics, and Computer Science. I am a punctual, personable, and shrewd individual, yet I have a quality which I pride myself on more than any of these.
        
        I am unequivocally the most unflaggingly hard worker I know, and I love self-improvement. I have always felt that my time should be spent wisely, so I continuously challenge myself; I left Villanova because the work was too easy. Once I realized I could achieve a perfect GPA while holding a part-time job at NYU, I decided to redouble my effort by placing out of two classes, taking two honors classes, and holding two part-time jobs. That semester I achieved a 3.93, and in the same time I managed to bench double my bodyweight and do 35 pull-ups.
        
        I say these things only because solid evidence is more convincing than unverifiable statements, and I want to demonstrate that I am a hard worker. J.P. Morgan is a firm with a reputation that precedes itself and employees who represent only the best and rightest in finance. I know that the employees in this firm will push me to excellence, especially within the Investment Banking division. In fact, one of the supporting reasons I chose Investment Banking over any other division was that I know it is difficult. I hope to augment my character by diligently working for the professionals at Morgan Stanley, and I feel I have much to offer in return.
        
        I am proficient in several programming languages, and I can pick up a new one very quickly. For instance, I learned a years worth of Java from NYU in 27 days on my own; this is how I placed out of two including: Money and Banking, Analysis, Game Theory, Probability and Statistics. Even further, I am taking Machine Learning and Probabilistic Graphical Modeling currently, two programming courses offered by Stanford, so that I may truly offer the most if I am accepted. I am proficient with Bloomberg terminals, excellent with excel, and can perform basic office functions with terrifying efficiency. I have plenty of experience in the professional world through my internship at Merrill Lynch, and my research assistant position at NYU. In fact, my most recent employer has found me so useful that he promoted me to a Research Assistant and an official CTED intern. This role is usually reserved for Masters students, but my employer gave the title to me so that he could give me more work.
        
        Please realize that I am not a braggart or conceited, I just want to outline my usefulness. Egos can be a huge liability, and I try not to have one.
